The #1 Chest and Breast Support Garments for Heart Surgery and Breast Surgery Patients

Instructions

Make sure to take your Cardiothoracic Bra or Harness to the hospital with you when you check in for your surgery. The nurses can then put it on you after your surgery, giving you the most comfort, pain relief, compression and support from the moment you start of your recovery.

If you are buying the bra or harness for a patient who has already had surgery and is still in the hospital, take the bra or harness to the hospital so that the nurses can put it on the patient as soon as possible.

Nurse Instructions: The AztecHeart™ Post Surgery Bra is a two-piece post-operative support and compression garment for use in the operating room. The back piece is removed and placed on the operating room table. NOTE that the label should always be on the outside back. The shoulder straps are connected first and then the bra front is brought down over the patient. Quickly, the side straps may be connected and then tighten to a firm fit. Side adjustments are designed for arthritic patients—no reaching behind back for adjustments and no front closing over your incision.NOTE: Unlike other bras that must be slipped on and interfere with IVs and tubing, the bra allows for IVs and drainage tubes.

  1. Label is always on the outside back. The bra may be fitted in three ways dependent upon the patient’s condition. The first as a two-piece noted above.
  2. With the shoulder straps connected and the lower body straps open, it may be dropped over patient’s head and then fitted on the sides until firm.
  3. Open one side of the bra entirely including the shoulder straps and the same side body straps. Then the bra may be slipped onto the patient from the side.
